Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Paperboy app and service (“Paperboy”). By using Paperboy you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The service

Paperboy reads the newsletters you choose from your Gmail and turns them into a short daily audio brief. To use it you need a Google account and must give Paperboy read-only access to Gmail. How we handle that data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Your account

You're responsible for your Google account and for activity on your Paperboy account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Paperboy. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.

Acceptable use

Please don't misuse Paperboy: don't try to access other people's accounts or data, interfere with or overload the service, reverse engineer it, or use it to break the law or anyone's rights.

Your content

The newsletters you receive belong to you and their publishers. Briefs are made only for your personal, non-commercial listening; please don't republish or redistribute them. We use your content only to provide Paperboy to you.

AI-generated briefs

Briefs are summarised and voiced automatically using AI. They may leave things out, get details wrong, or mispronounce names. Don't rely on a brief for anything important. Check the original newsletter.

Availability and changes

We work to deliver your brief on time every day but can't promise the service will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or stop parts of Paperboy, and will try to give notice of significant changes.

Ending your use

You can stop using Paperboy and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Disclaimers and liability

Paperboy is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by errors in briefs, missed deliveries, or third-party services such as Gmail. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Apple

These terms are between you and Paperboy, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Paperboy or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store's Usage Rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and if the changes are significant we'll let you know in the app. Continuing to use Paperboy after that means you accept the new terms.
